Test driving my new camera

I am so excited to be doing this! My new camera arrived at the end of last week and today was the first chance I'd had to play with it. I am so impressed, I can't wait to get to know it better, right now everything feels a bit strange, the camera itself is a lot bigger than my old one so I'm having to get used to the weight.
I'm also having to get used to the new layout of buttons and dials and focus points but it's all very exciting.

A Delightful Family

I had the pleasure to photograph this delightful family at the weekend. It's not often that all 6 cousins get to have their photogaphs taken together especially as 2 live here in France. So when the older 4 came over for the end of the summer holidays what better opportunity, it also meant that the 6 grandchildren could be photographed with grandma too.

I did wonder how the shoot would go, with ages ranging from 10 years to 2 months I was ready for anything. However the children were charming, well mannored and ready to do anything I asked, despite the high temparatures and bright sun. I had a great time with them. I hope they enjoy their "sneak peak"

In a world of her own.

Oh what it is to be 5 years old without a care in the world! I took this photograph of India a few weeks back as I was packing up from our 'mini session' (see one of the images below). We had done all the posed shots and she had wandered off to look at the river. On the other side of the bank were some cows drinking at the waters' edge and when I turned around to ask her to head to the car I saw her sitting like this watching the cows.

Beautiful Lighting

While looking at images to add to the header bar of my new re-vamped blog I came across this image of India that I'd taken a few weeks ago. I'm not sure why I didn't process it at the time but fell in love with the light falling on her.
I decided to process it in a slightly different way to my clean and crisp approach and went for warmth and nostalgia instead. I think it fits the mood perfectly.

All New

So I decided it was time to re-vamp my Blog, hopefully become a better blogger and keep up to date with it a little more.

I downloaded a great template that allows me to add larger images. It's still a work in progress and not all my info links and pages are up yet but I'm getting there.

Hope you like the new look, can't say it's 100% finished yet so stick with me if there are the odd changes here and there.

What fun! It's not often you get to smear your mum's eyeshadow all over your face and arms but if it's in the name of photography it's alright!!
